What are pneumatic tires?
There are two types of pneumatic tires: solid pneumatic and air pneumatic. Made of rubber, these tires are typically found on a variety of vehicles, including trucks, forklifts, and tractors. Due to their strong rubber treads and excellent shock absorption, these are one of the most popular choices of tires offered.
Ideal for outdoor work environments like lumber yards, ports, and construction sites, these tires excel on tough or uneven terrain. Filled with compressed air, they provide reliable performance in challenging environments. While these are less expensive than solid pneumatic tires, they are prone to punctures and require air pressure maintenance.

What are cushion/press-on tires?
Cushion tires (also called press-on tires) are smooth, solid tires made of rubber that are fitted around a metal band. These are easy to maintain and inexpensive but don't receive the same level of traction as pneumatic tires. Cushion tires are ideal for indoor work environments like warehouses due to their smaller turning radius.
Composed of solid rubber and directly pressed onto the wheel, cushion tires offer enhanced maneuverability with their lower profile and smaller turning radius. Perfect for tight spaces!

Tire Pressing
Tire pressing, also known as tire mounting or tire installation, is a crucial process in forklift maintenance and operation. It involves mounting a new tire onto the wheel rim of the forklift. This process requires specialized equipment and expertise to ensure the tire is properly seated and secured onto the rim.
The Tire Installation Process

Preparation: Before pressing the tire, the old tire must be removed from the wheel rim. Any debris or residue on the rim should be cleaned to ensure a smooth mounting surface.

Mounting the Tire: The new tire is carefully positioned onto the wheel rim. Depending on the type of tire and equipment available, various techniques may be used to press the tire onto the rim. This can include hydraulic presses, manual presses, or pneumatic tools.
